Our Story
A short, honest version of who we are and why we do this — from Nathan, in his own words.
Golden Retrievers have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with one — a gentle, endlessly loyal dog named Jasper who was more of a brother than a pet. When I was a boy, Jasper put himself between me and an oncoming vehicle during a road accident. He saved my life that day. He’s since passed, but everything we do here is in his memory.
That’s not a story I tell to sell puppies. It’s the reason this matters to me. I’ve seen firsthand what this breed is capable of — their loyalty, their gentleness, the quiet way they look after the people they love. My parents were home breeders before me; they did it out of love for the breed, not as a business, and that’s the example I grew up watching. After my wife and I settled down, I decided to carry that on. We’ve been raising Goldens from our home in Memphis since 2020 — hoping every puppy we place goes on to be, for some other family, what Jasper was for me.
There’s no dog like a Golden. They’re gentle in a way that’s almost human — they read a room, they comfort the people they love, and they never stop being kind.
Since 2020 we’ve raised well over 11 litters, continuing my parents’ home-breeding tradition. Our breeding dogs descend from Jasper’s line — his great-great-grandpups — a bloodline our family has carried forward for over 15 years.
We’re a true family-run home breeder. I (Nathan) oversee breeding, health, and puppy placement. My wife manages daily puppy care and stays in close contact with families through the process. Our children help with early socialization — gentle handling, play, and everyday exposure that raises confident, people-loving puppies. Two other family members who live with us are part of the daily care routine, and my parents — retired home breeders themselves — lend their experience whenever an extra pair of trusted hands is needed.
Our puppies are born and raised inside our home — never in a kennel, barn, or outbuilding. Their mother stays with them. For their first weeks they’re in a dedicated, temperature-controlled puppy room in our house, because newborn Goldens can’t regulate their own body temperature and need a safe, warm, stable environment.
As they grow, they move into the heart of our home, surrounded by everyday family life. We also have a large property with fenced yards where older puppies get supervised time to run, play, and begin potty training, plus early foundational training like “sit” for a treat. This mix of careful early care and real household exposure is what produces the calm, confident temperament Goldens are known for.
Breeding isn’t how we make our living — I run a separate business, which means we have the freedom to do this the right way: small numbers, careful planning, and as much time with each litter as they need. We breed because we love this breed, not because we depend on it.
Our puppies grow up underfoot, in the middle of family life — not in a kennel. That’s the whole secret. Calm, confident dogs come from being loved from day one.
